Mechanical engineer by trade, documented all in one page.
Work I am proud of:

This is a gravity car that accelerates when the mass supported on the gear falls due to gravity.
How?
The string attached to the mass is connected to the top gear which then connects to the wheel gears. When the mass falls, the gears connected on the wheels move forward allowing the car to accelerate.
Results
Our team competed against other Mechanical Engineer students at the University of Waterloo and we achieved one of the highest accuracy tests amongst the cars with an accuracy of 5cm. The height where the mass falls determines the distance the cars move.

This is the design enclosure for the Formula Electric Car from Waterloo’s Formula Electric Team.
How?
Multiple meetings were conducted over the span of three months to ensure the design was ready to be manufactured, Our team designed the design enclosure consisting of three parts: the front piece connected to the deck, the top left and side piece and the bottom and back piece, We used a calliper to measure the maximum dimensions and engineering drawings were created which was updated to the team’s Confluence and Jira. We used a grommet to ensure waterproofing of the wires exiting through the top. A liquid gasket was incorporated between the back and front piece for waterproofing.
Results
Our team successfully designed a display enclosure which was met the specified requirements that it was removable and waterproof. The design allowed an HDMI cable and additional cables connected to the display PCB to exit the display enclosure. The enclosure was easily disconnected by unscrewing the standoff screws connected to the back and front piece,

This is a phone stand designed from scratch using Solidworks.
How?
Centre of gravity was calculated manually and verified through Solidworks. Three separate parts designed from scratch (base, stand, top face) were incorporated into an assembly which complied to mass and support material constraints. The final assembly was 3D printed.
Results
I designed the phone stand to have multiple support locations; the phone can be rested on the bottom base and the stand as well as directly on the top face. The centre of gravity was accounted for an iPhone 12 so that the phone can be supported both vertically and horizontally in both locations.

This is a graphene super-capacitor that stores energy using a graphene based solution.
How?
Aluminum foil sheets act as the capacitor plates electronically disconnected by a plastic sheet infused with a graphene solution.
Results
The graphene super-capacitor stored enough energy to power a led bulb for five seconds.
